Verbo + C. C. I. + C. D.
I gave my brother the money Le di a mi hermano el dinero I bought my mother a present Compré a mi madre un regalo Forma 2
Verbo + C. D. + to / for + C. I.
I gave the money to my brother Le di el dinero a mi hermano I bought a present for my mother Compré un regalo para mi madre
En la segunda estructura se utiliza las preposiciones to o for delante del complemento indirect para destacarlo. Usar to o for depende del contexto o del significado de la frase. I gave the money to my family. ( to= a) Di el dinero a mi familia I gave the money for charity.

Someone gave the old man a watch.
The old man was given a watch. El viejo hombre fue dado un reloj.
•
A watch was given to the old man.
She was told a lot of lies. Se le dijeron muchas mentiras ...a...People ...a...People told her a lot of lies.
Veamos algunos tiempos frecuentes. Simple Present
Examples are usually given at he beginning of each activity.
Present Continuous
Look! He’s just being given the award! Mirad! Le están dando el premio!

14.9.17 Oraciones Adversativas y concesivas.
Although, even though, though, whereas, while, however, in spite of. Todos ellos seguidos de una oración con un verbo en forma personal a excepción de in spite of. •
Although he was English, he spoke fluent French. Aunque el era inglés, hablaba francés fluido. She bought a car, even though she couldn’t drive.
Though the windows were open, it was very hot in the room Aunque la ventana estaba abierta, hacia mucho calor en la habitación.
•
I love going to the beach in the summer whereas/ while John prefers walking in montains.
I wanted to study science. However, my parents persuaded me to study languages. Quise estudiar ciencias.
