1 Introduction This document provides the descriptions for features under development in the LTE Radio Access System Release RL50. The scope of the document includes evolved NodeB (eNB) and Transmission. The Flexi Transmission Module provides the transmission interfaces for the eNB. The LTE is managed with the Operations Support System (OSS) and it interfaces with Packet Switched (PS) Core Networks (CN) over the S1 interface. 3GPP baseline for the RL50 release is 3GPP Rel-10 June 2012. All the features listed in this document are Nokia Siemens Network's RAN level feature candidates and there may be changes to the final solutions due to the final screening and 3GPP standardization changes. This document does not cover the Core Network, WCDMA, GSM system and Mobile Station support but only Nokia Siemens Network's LTE RAN level issues. HW requirements section for each feature will indicate if the feature requires a specific HW in RAN LTE portfolio. It is left blank if the feature describes a HW item itself or has no specific requirements. Interdependency between features section is also limited only to dependencies between other NSN RAN LTE features. This document is NON BINDING.

BTS Site Solution 3.1 FRHC Flexi RF Module 6TX 2600 Unique ID: 1066 Short Description: FRHC Flexi Multiradio RF Module 6TX 2600 MHz has 6 Power Amplifiers enabling it to support one, two or three sectors with up to 40+40 W 2TX MIMO output power at the BTS antenna connectors. Size and visual outlook is similar to the existing Flexi RF Modules. The environmental protection class is IP65. From HW point of view it can be used as powerfull one sector RRH with max 4x40 W with 4TX MIMO and 4RX. 4TX MIMO and 4RX are separate SW features.

3.2 FRMC Flexi RF Module 6TX 800 Unique ID: 1067 Short Description: FRMC Flexi Multiradio RF Module 6TX 800 MHz has 6 Power Amplifiers enabling it to support one, two or three sectors with up to 40+40 W 2TX MIMO output power at the BTS antenna connectors. Size and visual outlook is similar to the existing Flexi RF Modules. The environmental protection class is IP65. FRMC is tuned for operators having the highest 20 MHz RF band on 800 MHz fulfilling the new regulator requirements in order to minimize the interference to TV broadcasting systems. From HW point of view it can be used as powerfull one sector RRH with max 4x40 W with 4TX MIMO and 4RX. 4TX MIMO and 4RX are separate SW features.

3.4 Cell Bandwidth - 1.4 MHz Unique ID: 117 Short Description: 1.4 MHz LTE cell RF bandwidth according to 3GPP specified bit rates and supported UE capability. Benefits for the Customer: The operator is able to deploy LTE cells with 1.4 MHz bandwidth. Functional Description: The Flexi Multiradio BTS supports a cell bandwidth of 1.4 MHz. The following special settings are applied for 1.4 Mhz cells: • Number of PDCCH OFDM symbols: set to 4 • Number of PUCCH PRBs: set to 2 • Only time domain scheduling is applied on uplink and downlink with a single user per TTI • Non adaptive HARQ retransmissions are applied for the uplink SIB size limitations are applied. In the TTI where PRACH is allocated no PUSCH data or PUCCH signaling are admitted, with the only exception of ACK/NACK on PUCCH.

3.6 FHEB Flexi RRH 2TX 1800 Unique ID: 1262 Short Description: FHEB Flexi Multiradio Remote RF Head (RRH) with 2TX downlink MIMO and 2RX receiver uplink diversity for world market LTE operation at 3GPP band 3. Benefits for the Customer: One sector Flexi Remote RF Head is able to support 2TX MIMO with high output power (2*60W) for hot spot dense urban capacity sites. It enables easy installation outdoors close to antennas thus maximising BTS site capacity and coverage for one sector. 3.12 RF sharing WCDMA-LTE Unique ID: 435 Short Description: Flexi Multiradio RF Module is operating in concurrent WCDMA and LTE mode. This means that the Flexi Multiradio RF Module is transmitting both WCDMA RF carrier(s) and LTE RF carrier signals on 2100 MHz band. One Flexi System Module is operating in WCDMA SW mode and second Flexi System Module in LTE SW mode. Both are connected to two shared FRGP modules. Benefits for the Customer: Easy and future proof BTS site evolution by using the same Flexi Multiradio RF Modules by SW mode either in WCDMA only mode, or in concurrent WCDMA/LTE mode or in LTE only mode. Operator can run both WCDMA and LTE concurrently by the same Flexi Multiradio RF Module(s). Flexi Multiradio BTS brings general OPEX savings on spare part stock, logistics and maintenance. The RF sharing configuration will be supported in operation with the following behavior. The shared equipment will need to be managed in a specific way. The two technologies are exchanging information between each other, so to know about the availability of the other side. RAT specific cell lock/unlock will not lead to outage of other technology. If other changes are done which need to have a restart also the other technology will be impacted. Different management roles The two technologies are having different roles with respect to operation: the master and slave role. In this RF sharing configuration of WCDMA and LTE, WCDMA is the master system module and is therefore controlling the shared RF resources. Master SM also controls MHAs and RETs. Configuration The configuration of the shared equipment and the SW download is possible only from the master WCDMA system module. The configuration file for both SMs will contain information on shared object and common parameters. The shared RF equipment are included in both technology inventory databases. The power configuration needs to cope with the need of both WCDMA and LTE. The configuration of the dedicated objects will need to be done via the SM that is responsible for the RAT specific dedicated resource. Commissioning WCDMA as master technology is commissioned first. In this way Slave can take a shared object into use immediately when Slave is commissioned. Alarming The alarms of the shared resources are doubled (master and slave alarm) and sent to respective technology specific cell of each system module (LTE and WCDMA). The alarmed resources in the alarms are different for LTE and WCDMA objects and the alarm ids are also different. The alarms sent for shared objects include indication that this is a shared alarm. No action needs to be triggered in case of slave on this, they shall be treated as for information only. The master shall trigger repair actions. Performance For performance management both system modules report their counters separately.

Functional Description: IP addressing: The eNB supports two IP addresses for U-plane (U1@ for operator 1, U2@ for operator 2) C-plane (C1@ for operator 1, C2@ for operator 2) M-plane and S-plane are owned by one of the operators. All UEs changing from RRC IDLE to RRC CONNECTED become candidates for the load based inter-frequency handover when a UE-specific timer that is started at UE context setup has expired and optionally when no QCI 1 bearer is established for that particular UE. The eNode B triggers the load based handover if above conditions are met at expiry of the timer. The UE capabilities are taken into account as well.

The load balancing handover is measurement based with dedicated thresholds using the event A4. RSRP is used as the handover trigger together with the measurements quantities RSRP and/or RSRQ. The UE measurements are aborted if the UE does not provide a measurement report or only measurements reports of temporarily blacklisted cells. All inter-frequency target layers for the coverage based handover are used as targets for the load based handover. The eNode B selects the target cell for the handover preparation based on reported CAC, blacklisting status and RF condition. The cause value reduce load at source cell is used for the handover preparation. The target cell uses the CAC in addition at radio admission control thresholds in order to decide whether to admit or reject a handover request with the cause value reduce load at source cell. Handover preparation rejections with the cause value No Radio Resources available at the Target Cell will be used to temporarily blacklist the concerned cell for a load based handover. The timer is operator configurable. Handover retries are not performed (i.e. neither after a handover request due to load balancing has been rejected nor when a load balancing handover was not successful). Functional Description: The Flexi Multiradio BTS supports carrier aggregation in downlink for two component carriers (CC) of 5 or 10 MHz cell bandwidth each and two non aggregated uplink cells. A mix of non carrier aggregation UEs and carrier aggregation UEs is supported in downlink. The maximum aggregated downlink bandwidth is 20 MHz. The supported band combinations (depending on the 3GPP progress) for the deployment scenario 2 described by 3GPP TS 36.300 are: • band 1 + band 5 • band 3 + band 5 • band 3 + band 8 • band 1 + band 8 • band 1 + band 18 • band 5 + band 12 The downlink carrier aggregation is applied for • UEs with the related UE capabilities and • UEs having only non GBR e-RABs established. 5.2.5 TTI bundling Unique ID: 907 Short Description: TTI bundling allows for better uplink performance at the cell border in LTE and reduced PDCCH signaling load. Benefits for the Customer: Bundling of TTIs enhances the uplink coverage. One transport block is allocated to four TTIs instead of one TTI, i.e. the energy per transmitted bit is increased. Functional Description: The Flexi Multiradio BTS supports TTI bundling in order to increase the uplink coverage and to reduce the PDCCH load. TTI bundling allows to allocate one transport block in uplink to four TTIs and up to three PRBs, which leads to an improved uplink link budget. The uplink rate is limited by the maximum allocation of three PRBs. TTI bundling is applied only for UEs with the related UE capabilities. The radio resource management of the eNode B dynamically activates / deactivates TTI bundling per UE with the RRC:RRCConnectionReconfiguration message. The thresholds for the activation and the deactivation are operator configurable. The RRC connection reconfiguration is performed as an intra-cell handover in order to ensure that the UE and the eNode B are synchronised. TTI bundling switches are not performed during active UE handover measurements requiring measurement gaps (e.g. inter-frequency or IRAT handover) as this may lead to a degradation of the handover performance. The following counters are provided in order to monitor the performance, e.g.: • Number of UL grants for TTI bundling • Average number of UEs configued for TTI Bundling mode of suc • Distribution of UE retention in TTI Bundling mode(short/medium/long UE retention in TTI Bundling mode) The TTI bundling functionality can be enabled / disabled per cell by O&M settings. 6.1

Network Monitoring and Maintenance

6.1.1 Event-triggered symptom data collection and provisioning Unique ID: 1099 Short Description: The feature presents a centralized function of collecting BTS Techlogs (troubleshooting data) from Flexi Multiradio BTS when a predefined event occurs. The logs are available in the NetAct and can be accessed by operator and sent to technical service to identify problems. Benefits for the Customer: Automatic troubleshooting data collection decreases the workload while self-triggered troubleshooting data generation makes data more accurate to solve a failure. Operator saves time in providing the required technical logs, thus leading to a higher overall network quality on long run. Functional Description: Triggering The log collection is triggered by BTS raw alarms inside the Flexi Multiradio BTS. These raw alarms are not reported to customer as alarms but they are linked to BTS Fault. There are up to 20 predefined triggers. The triggers (BTS Fault Id) are set by Site Configuration (PDDB) parameter. Configuration The Site Configuration File which is downloaded to the Flexi Multiradio BTS has the Site Configuration parameters including predefined BTS Fault Ids. The selection of the trigger events (the specific raw alarms) for log collection can be set in NetAct by Site Configuration parameters. Therefore configuration of this feature will come with the eNB Configuration file during the commissioning. The defined BTS Faults (up to 20 predefined faults) are initially not activated by default. This feature can be turned on/off from NetAct and BTS SM. Turning off/on of triggering log collection will be done for the whole eNB or for a set of predefined faults. Deactivation of Techlog triggering is done manually Process of log collection (who triggers and who receives) Techlog is triggered by the BTS when a raw alarm is raised. When a trigger fault is noticed, the BTSOM freezes buffers and takes snapshots of data. BTSOM starts uploading of troubleshooting data to OMS. Each piece of the data is transferred automatically to the OMS as separate file using BTS O&M interface file upload procedure. The OMS packs and compresses all files in one troubleshooting data file or BTS Technical log. The BTS deletes freezed data immediately after successful transfer to the OMS. The OMS informs the NetAct of Techlog and

the NetAct uploads the file from the OMS. The OMS sets 71106 TROUBLESHOOTING DATA RECEIVED alarm to inform the user that OMS received new troubleshooting data file. On seeing this alarm the OMS/NMS engineer collects the TechLog and sends it to TS. Use case (Reactive approach) Usually when an abnormal situation occurs, the operator creates a trouble ticket. The Technical support (TS) or R&D analyzes the ticket and decides if a Techlog collection would be required. The Techlog collection will be done for an existing situation or for a situation which is expected to occur repeatedly. TS informs the operator to activate Techlog collection based on a trigger. It is the duty of TS/R&D to define the triggers . The operator will have some instructions on how to activate Techlog collection. The operator may get assistance from TS according to the service agreement. In LTE the trace analyser tool is named Layer3 Data Analyser (L3DA). The Layer 3 Data Analyser (L3DA) enables the analysis of Flexi Multiradio BTS trace data. In later releases the access to several L3DC is going to be supported. • L3DA provides a uniform tool/mechanism across Nokia Siemens Networks offered technologies.

Using L3DA • Operator can analyze with L3DA one cell trace session at the same time • Operator can analyze (open) the stored files (trace sessions) on L3DC based on time and cell. • On one server, operator can access all the trace sessions, currently 200 eNB are supported. In L3DC the trace data storage is configurable and depends on the disk space (for which exist various options). L3DC can hold typically up to 22 TB. One fully loaded cell trace session generates 0.85MB/s (72GB/day).

6.2.1 Automatic cell combination assignment for Carrier Aggregation Unique ID: 1367 Short Description: Specific LTE mobility features, as e.g. carrier aggregation, require to indicate the cells which shall build a group of cells which shall interwork. LTE1367 offers an automatic cell selection for identifying the best candidates for Carrier Aggregation. No manual selection of cells is required anymore. Benefits for the Customer: Automatic and optimized cell selection avoid any manual planning and setting of cell combinations which are used in LTE mobility scenarios. Functional Description: This automated configuration feature identifies the best cell pair candidates which shall be used for Carrier Aggregation. The specific conditions for the cell pairs applicable for carrier aggregation are considered. The sector ID and the Carrier Aggregation Relation Parameter (CAREL) used in carrier aggregation are generated for the cells in primary component carrier (PCC) and cells in secondary component carrier (SCC). The cells in the same sector are configured with the same sector ID and the CAREL identify the cell pairs used for carrier aggregation. The selection of the corresponding cell pairs is proposed by Optimizer algorithms. If no corresponding cell pair can be identified, the operator will be informed about possible mismatch in the configuration. The operator can decide, if he would like to activate the proposed changes in the network or discard them or would still like to change them.The generation of cell candidates can be triggered during auto configuration or on manual trigger by operator. The functionality will be applied for the eNBs / cells in the network for which carrier aggregation is enabled. No intermediate SW versions are necessary to be installed. If necessary, configuration data is converted into new format. This implies that the data from the previous release can be re-used after the upgrade. No manual intervention is required. This data includes - Most obvious all configuration data of the Flexi Multiradio BTS, iOMS, NetAct, L3DC and Traffica - Adaptations done by operator for different (graphical) presentations in BTS SM or NetAct, for example: top level user interface: topology view, as for example: - PM configuration

4) Command line/script execution In case there are command line or scripts used they need to be backward compatible or a converter is in place for the upgrade support from release N-1 to release N.

5) NetAct is prepared to handle both NE releases (release N-1, release N) with release N timeframe. A mixed configuration support is ensured.

12) In case of an upgrade failure, an automatic fallback to the original release takes place. In addition the fallback can be initiated from the operator on command. For L3DC and Traffica a manual rollback can be initiated by operator. The fallback has to consider as well the correct CM database and the consistency between them needs to be ensured. The automatic fallback is available for Flexi Multiradio BTS.

Functional Description: Cell Specific neighbor relation / PCI handling introduces additions to the existing ANR features to allow enhanced usage of ANR and HO related features even in difficult network setups. Following improvements are added:

1) Cell specific PCI resolution The existing ANR features are based on the concept that the PCI information of a cell is an eNB wide unique information per frequency. As over the time the networks are growing or significant distances between the cells of one eNB might be applied, it might happen that different cells of one eNB detects different neighboring cells with same PCI and frequency, but different ECGI. This feature introduces that the PCI information is used cell specific per frequency in the eNB. The PCI / ECGI information is resolved based on CGI measurements. The feature increases the grade of service for the end user by maintaining well performing and robust neighbor relations (mobility procedures). Functional Description: NetAct Optimizer utilizes Flexi Multiradio BTS configuration information and performance counters (Inter-RAT HO-counters) in order to perform the analysis task. The evaluation may result in no action or blacklisting of a neighbor cell relation. Even speaking about handover: it is not restricted to handover only, but also other mobility procedure are meant, as e.g. eNACC. Here the term blacklisting is used, which is a term used to indicate that a handover shall not happen. Modelling uses allowed and forbidden entries.

The following use cases are supported: - Neighbour cell relations which have an insufficient handover performance (e.g. weak handover success Rate; threshold is operator configurable) may be blacklisted by an optimization mechanism or, optionally, manually by an operator. - Neighbours cell relations which had been blacklisted, can be whitelisted/enabled again by the operator (e. g. if an operator wants to re-evaluate the performance of a formerly blacklisted neighbor relation due to changed environment/toplogy). - Neighbours cell relations can be marked by an operator in a way that they are excluded from optimization.

6.2.5 RACH Optimization Unique ID: 962 Short Description: The feature offers the optimization of PRACH / RACH parameters which are used in the Flexi Multiradio BTS with the Optimization by Resolution of Collisions and Inconsistencies. RACH Optimization is following TS 36.902 definition, but still considering central approach as defined with LTE581 PRACH management. Benefits for the Customer: Collisions and Inconsistencies are avoided which otherwise may lead to decreased PRACH/RACH detection probability and to interference to and from other cells and physical channels.

Following situations area seen which may lead to Collisions or Inconsistencies after 1st assignment of PRACH / RACH parameter assignment with LTE581: - eNB is/was manual configured - eNB parameters relevant for PRACH/RACH allocation are changed after auto-configuration process of eNB - Change of network topology (add new eNBs with auto-configuration process, however due to LTE581 no change of already configured eNBs is performed, and therefore collision free PRACH allocation could not be performed) · Change of antenna location e.g.: use of distributed sites The impact of possible collisions can be seen as e.g.: - Decreased PRACH/RACH detection probability or increase of false detection probability - Interference to and from other cells - Decreased overall system/network performance The parameters which are optimized are: - PRACH cyclic shift - PRACH configuration index * - PRACH frequency offset - PRACH Root sequence * PRACH preamble format is also assigned in the algorithm as the PRACH configuration index is defining the PRACH format and the PRACH position time wise, as well as the RACH density. The optimization can be executed by - Manual trigger with using NetAct user interface - Time Based trigger (e.g. run once a every x-day / y-week / z-months) for defined set of eNBs scheduled using SON scheduler

The optimization for the collision / inconsistency resolution can be executed in following manner: - Automatic Algorithms executes stepwise collision resolution. a) create new PRACH configuration set by using PRACH optimization procedure for first cell, and if collision can be solved stop optimization and download this configuration to eNB. b) If not then perform the same procedure for second cell, and download new parameter set to affected eNBs in case collision can be solved.c) If no collision free allocation can be found, inform operator. - Semi automatic Plan is proposed to the operator. When the stop point is activated, the plan provisioning takes only place when operator confirms. Change everything - perform new PRACH planning for all eNBs and subordinate cells within area of interest and all eNBs within their PRACH reuse distance (either manual using NetAct user interface, automatic or semi-automatic). The data used in this optimization algorithm are based on the configuration information of the own cells and of the surrounding cells and potentially performance feedback from network. The optimization algorithm is working centrally in NetAct. PRACH settings which shall not be changed by the optimization can be marked by operator and especially PRACH settings which are not managed by this NetAct regional cluster are taken into consideration without proposal to change. The feature is optional and can be configured by operator via NetAct Optimizer. Configuration changes applied in network are included to the SON reports. 6.3.1 Multi-layered Certificate Authorities Unique ID: 523 Short Description: This feature provides supports operator certificate management for multilayer hierarchical PKI and cross-certified PKI structures by Flexi Multiradio BTS. Benefits for the Customer: The customer is able - To integrate Nokia Siemens Networks Identity Management System as sub-ordinate CA into its existing PKI - deploy an own/3rd party sub-ordinate CA to manage certificates for the Flexi Multiradio BTS Functional Description: Supported PKI models: The Flexi Multiradio BTS supports multi-layer hierarchical PKI. Multi layered hierarchies allow the operator to integrate Nokia Siemens Network Identity Management Solution as subordinate CA into the operators existing/own PKI infrastructure and/or allows to integrate the Flexi Multiradio BTS into any 3GPP compliant 3rd party PKI architecture. Chain of trust: The Flexi Multiradio BTS has the complete trust chain for its own operator eNB certificate stored and optionally the trust anchor of a second operator in case of RAN Sharing (multi core operator network configuration). When validating the remote peers certificate the BTS steps up the trust chain until the according trust anchor is found (a self-signed root CA certificate). If the entity certificate of the remote peer is not directly signed by a root CA then it sends the certificates of the involved subordinate CA(s) as part of the secure connection establishment. On the other hand the BTS sends the certificates of the own subordinate CA(s), if any, as well to the remote peer.

eNB Operator certificate and trust anchor enrolment: The common rules for certificates and the enrolment of operator eNB certificates follow 3GPP Release 9 TS 33.310 Network Domain Security - Authentication Framework. The Flexi Multiradio BTS uses the vendor certificate for initial authentication. SHA-1 and SHA-256 are supported as hash algorithms for operator certificate signs and Signing CA key length of up to 8192 bit. The trust anchors (root certificates) are stored as a pool of valid certificates. The own trust chain is either delivered via CMP protocol exchange from the RA/CA or manually via the BTS Site Manager. The Flexi Multiradio BTS supports a chain of trust of 4 layers, i.e max. 3 sub-ordinate CA layers. Optionally a second trust anchor of a second operator in case of multi core operator network configuration can be installed with the BTS Site Manager. Operator certificate and trust anchor life cycle management: The Flexi Multimode BTS renews its operator certificate automatically before the lifetime expires. In addition the operator is able to use the NWI3 Mediation Fragment Configuration Tool or the BTS Site Manager to trigger the operator certificate update on demand from remote. Note: the update of the operator certificate (key update) is authenticated by the current operator certificate whilst the initial enrolment (key initialization) uses the Nokia Siemens Networks vendor certificate or PSK/refnum for initial authentication.

When the trust anchor is close to expiring the eNB sends a notification to NetAct. The operator may now add a new trust anchor with the BTS Site Manager. Note : an expired or unneeded trust anchor can be deleted from the Flexi Multimode BTS trust pool with the NWI3 Mediation Fragment Configuration Tool or the BTS Site Manager. Certificate revocation: Received certificates from remote peers are checked if they are revoked. Only the CRL addressed by the own BTS entity certificate is taken into account, CRL given by the received peer certificate or of any sub-ordinate CA is not followed. In case the CRL distribution point is given as FQDN the according IP address is resolved by DNS query. The list is downloaded from the CRL distribution point via LDAPv3. The update of stored CRLs is done regularly by the Flexi Multiradio BTS or manually triggered from NetAct on demand. Note: if in case of RAN sharing the peer certificate is signed by a 2nd operators PKI then the revocation check is not executed.

6.4.1 iOMS Certificate update and revocation support Unique ID: 1260 Short Description: The iOMS supports the automated certificate life cycle management by autonomous update of the operator entity certificate. This iOMS certificate can be signed by a multilayer PKI system comprising sub-ordinate CAs and the root CA on top. Revocation lists provided by the signing of the remote peers are loaded and regularly updated. Benefits for the Customer: The customer is able to use a usual Public Key Infrastructure with a Root certificate Authority on top and use case specific sub-ordinate Certificate Authorities in charge for signing the RAN nodes also now for iOMS nodes. 3GGP compliant life cycle management allows flexibility on PKI vendor selection and harmonized certificate management for iOMS in the same fashion as for BTS and Security Gateways which leads to severe OPEX reductions. Functional Description: This Certificate Management feature supports the autonomous update of the iOMS operator certificate and the provision of revocation information to the secure transport layers like TLS or HTTPS. With the help of the revocation lists the secure transport layers can check if it is allowed to establish a secure connection to a particular remote communication peer. 3GPP compliant life cycle management: The CMP protocol and procedures are implemented according the profiling done by 3GPP TS 33.310, in particular for trust anchor delivery to iOMS and CMP message signing by the Certificate Authority or alternatively by the Registration Authority terminating the CMP protocol session. Multilayer Support: The iOMS certificate can be signed by a trust chain, e.g. the iOMS entity certificate is signed by a sub-ordinate CA which itself is signed by the Root CA. The iOMS has the complete trust chain for its own operator certificate stored and supports a chain of trust of 4 layers, i.e. max. 3 subordinate CA beyond the Root CA.

Automated iOMS operator Certificate update: The CMPv2 protocol implementation is enhanced by the key update procedure. The iOMS renews its operator certificate automatically before the lifetime expires. In addition the operator is able to use the NWI3 Mediation Fragment Configuration Tool to trigger the operator certificate update on demand remotely.

Trust anchor deployment & update: The trust anchors - Root CA certificate and optional sub-ordinates CA certificates - are either delivered via the CMP protocol exchange for key signing request or key update or by manually iOMS set-up configuration (files in PKSC#12 or PEM format). When one of the trust anchors is close to expiring the iOMS sends a notification to NetAct. Local certificate enrollment: If the operator has no online PKI in service then it is possible to load the operator certificate and trust anchors manual as part of the iOMS set-up configuration procedures by files. The off-line created key-pair and the according certificate are included within a passphrase protected PKCS#12 file; in addition certificates and RSA keys are accepted as PEM formatted files. 3GPP algorithms: In addition to SHA-1 the iOMS supports SHA_256 as hash algorithm for certificates as required by 3GPP TS 33.310 chapter 6.1.1 Common rules to all certificates. Certificate Revocation check: CRL support can be activated / deactivated in common by operators configuration. If activated the iOMS performs the CRL housekeeping. CRL distribution points (CRLDP) given by certificates of the own PKI: By default the iOMS uses found CRLDP received within a peer entity certificate and all subordinate CA certificates of the peers trust chain to address and download the CRLs for the own PKI. The BTS downloads and updates these lists automatically from the LDAP servers. In addition the operator is able to trigger the update with the NetAct MNCTool Configurable CRL distribution points: Alternatively configurable CRL sources are available (IP addresses/FQDN and path). The iOMS offers 10 additional CRL distribution points which can be configured with CRL IP addresses/FQDN and path. Functional Description: • Remote SW-Management for iOMS This feature enables a NetAct user to do remote iOMS SW management supporting Incremental deliveries. Operator has possibility to perform iOMS SW downloads and activations with NetAct SW Management application. iOMS Incremental Deliveries can be remotely installed and activated. Major SW Upgrades are still done via CLI.

• iOMS Data backup and restore solution

The solution enables managing the iOMS configuration with NetAct (and iOMS Element Manager) by taking backups of the iOMS configuration data and transferring the backups from the iOMS local disk to a safe remote location. The remote backup storage location can be NetAct or other remote location. This feature does not change the backup procedure, all current backup variations will be supported (partial, full or custom backup). Restriction: Full Restore from remote is not supported, only partial and custom restore are supported from remote.
