7.2 PRINCIPALES COMPRADORES EN 2012 /PRINCIPAL BYERS in 2012 China es el destino número uno de los envíos de cobre chilenos seguido por Japón en segundo lugar y Corea del Sur en tercero. En el continente americano destacan los EE.UU. y Brasil sumando un 11,4% entre ambos, mientras en Europa los países más importantes son Holanda e Italia, que en 2011 importaron 214.000 ton del metal rojo cada uno.

Exportación de productos manufacturados de cobre. Durante los últimos años, el valor de los embarques de productos de cobre se multiplicó considerablemente llegando a su peak en 2008 con 107.017 ton, como resultado de los precios récord del cobre alcanzados en este periodo. Sin embargo, en 2009 la crisis económica global generó una contracción de los embarques. Cabe destacar que el precio de metales reacciona de forma sensible a los cambios del mercado. En 2012 se observa que se ha consolidado la reactivación de las exportaciones, que se expandieron por segundo año consecutivo
